Document Summary

A shell of uniform charge attracts or repels a charged particle that is outside the shell as if all the shell"s chargewere concentrated at its center. If a charged particle is located inside a shell of uniform charge, there is no net electrostatic force on the particle from the shell spherical conductors. If excess charge is placed on a shperical shell that is made of coducting material, the excess charge spreads uniformly over the external surface. If we place excess electrons on a shpercal metal shell, the ekectrons repel one another and spread over the availble surface untill they are uniformly distribute conservation of charge. Electric field lines extend away from positive charge(where they originate) and toward negative charge( hwere they terminate) At any point p the electric field vector is tangent to the electric field lines. The magnitude of the fiel vector is proportional to the density of the elctric field lines.
