As sunny taylor states in the right not to work: disability and power, this is accomplished by making them economically and socially isolated. Disabled people have limited housing options, are socially and culturally ostracized, and have very few career opportunities. The state of being mentally or physically challenged. Sunny taylor describes that with impairment comes personal challenges and drawbacks in terms of mental processes and physical mobility. To be impaired is to be missing a limb or born with a birth defect; it is a state of embodiment. Intersectionality is the relationship between two or more variables, such as race, class, and gender. Intersectionality describes how multiple variables can affect the outcomes of other single variables. In order for one variable to be completely understood, it must be coupled with other variables and the connections and relationships must be studied.
