Waxing gibbous: 51%-99% lit for left or right disk. Waning gibbous: left side: 99-51% lit, right side: 99 to 51% lit disk. Waning crescent: left side 49-1% lit, right side 59-1% lit. Waxing: moon visible in afternoon or early evening, gets fuller and rises later every day. Waning: moon visible in late evening or early morning, gets less and sets later every day.
