None of these techniques work for even the nearest stars. Stellar parallax - the best method for measuring the distance to the nearest star. The location of nearby objects shift their position relative to more distant objects when looked at from different viewpoints. Your brain processes the images from your two eyes to estimate distance, and we can use this to find distances.
