The moon is orbiting the earth faster than the earth is moving around the sun, so it is. Astro unit: solar mass - mass relative to the mass of our sun. The use of the scientific method in astronomy has some underlying assumptions. Science seeks explanation for observed phenomena that rely solely on natural causes.
