Computer systems combination of all the components required to process and sore data using a computer: hardware equipment or physical devices associated with a computer. Eg keyboard, mouse, screen (basically anything you can touch. Takes info that the computer has processed and places it on various output devices. The brain of the computer, supervising operations of all the other sections of the computer. Carries out the instructions of a computer program. Where computer stores data temporarily while an application is running. Slower access speed, high capacity, non-volatile (literal opposite from primary storage) this is because its usually external where as primary is internal. Examples are hard drive, cd, dvd, usb memory: software/programs computer instructions that tell the hardware what to do. System software windows, mac os x, linux. Application software word processing, spreadsheet, media player, video game, web browser, ect.
