We all support political views, even if we choose apathy. Broader sense: a species of justice, that which involves just acknowledgement of the sources of our existence and progress through life. An essentialist definition: the essence of x is a single characteristic (or set of characteristics) all xs share and which makes them xs. The problem with the attempt: ostensive vs. essentialist definition. The problem with the attempt is the principle of bivalence. Principle of bivalence: a claim must be true or false. Not all of the gods agree with what is pious and what isn"t, so some might say prosecuting his father is pious, while others may think it is impious. Acting piously is taking care for the gods. To care for the gods, you must know what is dear to them.
