Marx is must more spiritual and existential in his earlier writings. Develops ideas that have come part of our own economic and social landscape: Alienation - facebook combats the alienation we feel on a daily basis. The whole concept of being alienated and distant started in part with marx. The way in which we are dominated by our work is central to marx"s theory; is very prominent today. The object of your work dominates you so much, that eventually you lose all sense of personhood. The only way we can escape alienation is through collective action. The worker becomes poorer the more he produces. You are not looked at as a human being, but as a commodity that can be taken and used up; it then makes us think of ourselves as only commodities, and not persons. The worker is the slave of his object. Marx is trying to convey that the health of the community is the greatest priority.
