When i first saw this week"s prompts, i remembered discussing mcdonald"s story in high school. Similarly to the video, we dissected the truth of the story and the media"s portrayal of liebeck"s story. As junze and olivia shared, i too was shocked by the award of 2. 9 million dollars, it seems outrageous and absurd and made me want to read on- which is the aim of the media. The shock factor draws people in and in turn, these news companies profit off their own unethical representation of a story. The cycle is sickening because giant news broadcasters have the power to spin any story in any way. Then we as the naive public will never know the truth about what is happening around us and fall into their traps. This is absolutely a question of ethics because news companies cannot be allowed to print whatever they please.
