- Material culture= Anything tangible object that has meaning= flag, money

- Non-Material culture= the mental blueprints that allow us to navigate the social

world and allow us to interact with one another.

• Folkways= people walk on right side of sidewalk

• Norms= is a proper behavior that guides everyday life/ society’s expectation

• Mores= norms with greater importance, carry greater weight

• Laws= Driving on the right hand side= enforced by state = written down

• Taboos= Behaviors society deems as being morally impugnant= cannibalism & incest
