Media practitioners are the unelected communicators of the planet. Freedom to communicate especially about gov, is not optional in a democracy. Optics often create the impression that the media had special access to information. Legally, media practitioners are citizens and have the rights of access provided to any other citizens under the law. The text uses a couple of examples: Access is the same as for anyone else.
