Interpersonal communication = the study of messages exchanged between people. The basic unit of interpersonal communication is the dyad, which means two people. A dyad is often represented this way. The effort that people are willing to put forth in order for the relationship to go on. Understand how someone is feeling, without the communicating this explicitly. Men tend to be stronger than women. Historically men are in army, politics etc more. Self-disclosure (things that you may not necessarily share freely with everyone) If you don"t want to get into a relationship with someone you will not reciprocate as much back. To see if this is a person that you want to get to know. People could violate trust by judging or telling other people. If reciprocal and gradual does not happen this can put the other people in a bad position to manage - by telling to much too soon - why gradual is good.
