Biology has a lot of variation throughout people. The institutionalized system, that allots resources, property and privileges to individuals according to culturally defined gender roles. Evidence for some hormonal effects on gendered behavior. Environments also have over-riding or mediating effect in many cases. Doctors are more concerned by the genitals, not the chromosomes. Must register as male or female in the legal system , medical community has erased transgender. Everyone (male, female, intersexual) has testosterone and estrogen. Testosterone increases a lot during puberty and decreases in older age. Males have more testosterone and women have more estrogen. Seems to protect the heart and the bones.
