Religion- church membership 1/15 were church members (very low) All different religious backgrounds- charleston (charles town) All english colonies had these standard social rules. The status that you"re born into determines your life. Wealth and power mean you"ll have political positions. These views change with revolution (a very slow change) Top: planters- small population, economic, political, and social are controlled by these small families and into the civil war.
