In cool-season grasses (c3), pn takes place during cooler times (spring, fall). Bermudagrass, cynodon dactylon is most common in arkansas and tolerant of low water and migrating further north in the us. Kentucky bluegrass, poa pratensis is a major cool-season grass, requires lots of water and fungicide and does not recommend. Major use in transition zones is tall fescue, festuca arundinacea (cool) and zoysiagrass, All cultivars of zoysiagrass but only some cultivars of bermudagrass are most widely used in the entire state of ar. In southern ar, all cultivars of centipede and some of st. augustine can be found. In northern ar, some cultivars of bluegrass and fine fescue can be found and good cultivars of tall fescue can be found.
