ENG 317 Lecture Notes - Lecture 18: Orono, Maine, Due Date
Document Summary
There is a problem with affordable and safe student housing in orono, maine. I believe that this is an increasingly important issue and needs to be addressed. Students are stressed about money, which makes paying plus a month in rent very difficult. This has become the norm though, unless you want to live in a run-down, mold-infested old town home. Anywhere that is reasonably safe and local will cost you. They know that their spots will get filled one way or another because of the large student body. This means that in a four bedroom apartment with a shared living room and kitchen in this complex adds up to over ,000 a month. Students who don t wish to live in these complexes have to go on a house hunt. Most houses are not managed ethically or up to code. I plan to survey students about the prices they are willing to pay and the tradeoff risks.
