The mainland has a lot more influence of native american languages. Day of the dead takes elements of native american and put it into catholicism. Central america/mexico has christianity combining with older native american beliefs. Mexico used to have texas and california in its borders. Some countries in caribbean and central america (bahamas, trinidad) are higher income areas. Native american population in mexico is the poor area. Where europeans are it is the wealthier area of mexico.
