Japan is mountainous because of collision of asian plate with the pacific plate that forms mountains. Japan had lots of earthquakes and volcanoes because of collision of continental and oceanic plate. Weather is similar to what we have here in the u. s. same latitude, and basic shape/area. Dry in the west (grazing), wetter weather in the east (farming). West china has big deserts because it is far from the ocean. North china is cold, south china is warm. Most of china has been deforested but is no longer forested for agriculture. Japan and korea have more forest because of mountains, it"s too steep to grow crops; some forests in southern china. Taklimakan desert (far west), gobi desert (mid-west), low rainfall, far from ocean; in western.
