In 1950 the ussr was ranked 4th largest in the world. Russia is ranked 9th largest in the world and is what is became of the ussr. Ussr lost half its population when it was split up. Health care poor managed and underfunded after collapse of ussr. When the economy collapsed, potatoes where grown everywhere in order for people to feed themselves.
