To the point of markedly reduced wight. Cut off could have been too restrictive for individuals to get services even if they were heading in that direction. Usually excessive exercise or reduced food intake, but can have binge-purge with anorexia. Do see themselves as larger than they are. Also took out loss of menstrual cycle. Slide (not in slides - looking at dsm-5) Last 3 months, not binge/purge, but accomplishing weight loss through dieting, fasting, or excessive exercise. Is engaging in a binge episode, and then purging. Make sure it"s not specific to a single stressor. Commonly begins during adolescence or young adulthood. Time when bodies changing, and more preoccupied wiht how they look. Historically, cases look like they were anorexia prior to eating disorders being a concept. Doesn"t mean to say one is worse than the other. Sense that this is the one thing they can control.
