To pass a more complete civil rights bill, one that included: (1) an end to segregation (2) protection of civil rights activists (3) a permanent fair employment practices committee: organizing the march. Coming together of several civil rights organizations: resistance. There was a great amount of people that didn"t want the march to happen and opposed it. They believed that civil rights were more a conversational topic. A march on washington was far too radical: i have a dream . Meant as a pep talk you"ve all spent a lot of time to get here. You took the bus all night, it"s hot out : john lewis. Basically says if you don"t make a change, we"re going to crank it all up.
