Over ime, people tend to accept things that occur socially. The clothes people wear now will look awful in 10 years. Enculturaion- happens every day with various things we idenify with. The process by which culture is learned and transmited across generaions: through instrucion, through conscious observaion, unconsciously. Lifelong process that helps unify peoples develop cliques, cults and communiies at all scales. Enculturaion can be posiive or negaive but is neither good nor bad. Symbol: textbook says something verbal or nonverbal that stands for something else wikipedia says, Something such as an object, picture, writen word or sound that represents something else by associaion, resemblance or convenion . Some anthropologists argue that culture originated when our ancestors started using symbols. This is a more restricive deiniion of culture than tradiions and customs transmited through learning. Semanics whats more import than symbolism is an important part of culture. Very litle of what we think is original.
