More likely to interact with them, 41% of next door neighbors were close friends, 22% two doors down were close friends, 10% on opposite ends of hall were close friends, 1st floor near stairs had more close friends on 2nd floor, you see them more going up and down the stairs, and more interactions. Intensification hypothesis: more contact, you either like them more, or dislike them more. Research assistants sat in on large lecture class. Varied number of times research assistants visited, 15, 10, 5 or 0. The more they saw them, the more attractive they were even though they didn"t know them personally, as long as they saw them more often, they were seen as more attractive due to familiarity.
