Language used in social practice, considers how sociopolitical powers are represented in speech. Leads to hierarchy/ies of languages and the ideological abstraction of the standard language . The ability to influence or control the behavior of people. Modern/ subtle/ everyday/ new forms of cultural racism. Important to us as writers and writers of research.
