Document Summary

Describe the digesion and absorpion of dietary lipids including organs, issues, enzymes, and other necessary factors involved. Name and deine (composiionally) the lipoproteins and their funcions. End products of digesion: free faty acids, monoglycerides, free cholesterol, phospholipids. Lipoproteins paricles that transport lipid in our circulaion. All lipoproteins have proteins that travel with them (called apolipoproteins) to help solubilize them in the blood. Lipid transport - circulaing fat comes from two places. 1 - we consume lipids in our diet (exogenous lipid transport) - chylomicrons featured. Breaks down triglycerides from tg-rich lipoproteins into faty acids and glycerol. 2 - we make it in our liver (endogenous lipid transport) vldl and ldl featured. 3 - one inal consideraion reverse cholesterol transport hdl featured. Removal of cholesterol from peripheral issues to be delivered to the liver. Compare and contrast the diferent lipoproteins with respect to: lipid content and relaive size. Deine and describe exogenous and endogenous lipid transport, and reverse cholesterol transport.
