Chronic stress: acute stress quick, non-long lasting stress; stress levels will return to normal, chronic stress when the stressor is prolonged and the effect of the stressor remains; stress level does not return to normal. Ex:growing up in poverty can cause chronic stress: automatic nervous system. Pns feed, breed, and rest: sns fight or flight, pns and sns work together so we can survive and reproduce. Short-term stress response: release of epinephrine and norepinephrine (adrenaline)
