Over time, we"ve also come to appreciate other channels, such as informal sources. We"re all watching the stimulus/ responding to it: we"re watching each other for feedback. Verbal, non-verbal, and informal communication modes of communication are the primary modes of information diffusion in collective episodes that inform participants: tell us things like You do things in collectives and you understand what you"re doing by seeing other people react. Understanding the form helps us make sense of it, you can"t really distinguish them much: that which is directly observed and verifiable direct observation, evidence based on experience. Rumors passed are usually general information that passes across large networks. Study of ce have used rumors to understand why behavior of a range and type have happened. Important: we need to make a key distinction, rumors are not gossip!
