They try to indentify traits/genes that may predispose the patient. Very substantially reduce risk of dying from colon cancer. We are witnessing the fruits of labor of the golden age of biology. It is the marriage of science and technology. It explains the relation between humans to other species, the life around us. The enormous amount of empirical evidence brought about by the scientific method. It is inherited change in organisms over time.
