Document Summary
Studied galen, hippocrates avicenna at university medical school in bologna, italy. A neuroanatomist that discovered bioelectricity or galvanism - or the study of electrophysiology. Already in the neolithic times, 40000 years ago, man performed skull surgery, as archeological findings have unearthed thousands of skulls all over the world, with holes bored on them. This surgery, called trepanning, was probably carried out to liberate demons and bad spirits. Franz josef gall (9 march 1758 - 22 august 1828) Believed in phrenology - thinks that by feeling the bones in someone"s head you can tell their personality traits - he was proven flase. Used lesion studies of animals to investigate the claims of phrenology. Used a rod to plant the dynamite - accidentally blew up the rod - the rod blasted through left cheek, through his head. He just got up after the explosion and said he needs a doctor.
