Hiv infection means hiv is replicating in the body. Aids-a specific diagnostic condition in which hiv antibodies are present and an opportunistic disease has occurred. The job of gp41 is to hold gp120 on the surface of the virus. When gp120 binds to cd4, gp120 changes its structure. It opens up a region of the protein that is hidden which allows it to bind to a co-receptor (ccr5, or cxcr5). Pol polymerase, where reverse transcriptase, integrase, and protease is coded. Fever, myalgia, rash, headache, sore throat, decreased cd4 lymphocyte count, high viral loads, seeding of lymphoid tissues by hiv.
