Dendrite: branches that receive signals from other neurons. Axon: an extension that transmit signals to other cells. Synapse: place where a neuron communicates with another cell. They pass information chemically from the transmitting neuron to other cells. Glia nourish neurons, insulate axons, and regulate the fluid around neurons. Sensory neuron: transfer information about external stimuli like light, touch, smell, blood pressure, and muscle tension for example.
