Many aspects of migraion story that have a lot in common with laino history. Fidel castro took power and lauched economic/socia lreforms - school building campaign etc. 1959-1961; went from being naional reformist to socialist movement. Castro couldn"t hold elecions ; they resented him b/c he closed private/ catholic schools. Us. gov horriied by this. wanted to delegiimize castro"s gov. Most of cuba"s export/ import came from u. s. - goal was to get rid of revoluion. 1500 exiles recruited by cia landed in cuba - bay of pigs, became prisoners of war, exchanged to u. s. for medical supplies - cuba/u. s. relaion = not good at this ime. Peter pan - children lived in foster/ children homes. So many cubans came to maimi, it became prob for local gov. People complain that local children didn"t get good educaion b/c cuban kids illing up all the space.
