Displacement happens when person/thing represented as symbol in dream. Definition - expression of feelings towards a person/thing that is less threatening than true target of those things. Ex. have crush on someone; they are symbolized by inanimate object in dream. Projection = attribution of one"s undesirable feelings to another. Symbolization happens when dreamer has repressed/suppressed urges/desires acted out metaphorically in dreams. Falling in dreams can symbolize lack of control. Condensation filling in the gaps in your dreams ex. receiving food in dreams can mean receiving love can often be misinterpreted. Secondary revision final stage of dreamwork dream itself will lose appearance of incoherence ways in which dreamwork attempts to reorganize our dreams in sync with experiences of everyday life. Day residue references to dreamer"s recent thoughts/perceptions. Ego acts as if it is an internal diplomat. Superego composed of internalized ideals that we"ve acquired from parents and society. Freudian superego most equal to notion of conscience.
