Stress and weapon focus: high stress impairs memory and reduces accuracy rate, could be memory or perception people"s eyes tend to focus on weapon not on perpetrator"s face. Weapon is actual threat not an everyday occurrence and that"s why you tend to focus on the gun. Witness confidence: primary factor jurors/judges/prosecutors use to determine credibility of eyewitness id, false certainty: caused by post-id feedback. Post identification feedback paradigm: witness event, lineup identification, manipulation of feedback. Told you got the guy other told nothing: measures how certain? how good of a view? etc, wells & bradfield (1998) experimentally manipulated this feedback: manufactured false confidence.
