The deadly deception is a documentary about the tuskegee study, which was an experiment where government doctors promised african american males in alabama free treatment for syphilis. In the film, we get to see different perspectives and testimonies from the experimentation of these men and how it affected not only them but people in the medical field and civil rights movement as well. The program"s main goal was not to find a cure for syphilis, but rather study it. These poor black men of macon county were deceived believing they were receiving medical treatment, yet they were getting placebos. Center for disease control exposed the study publicly, and it finally ended. The social status of these men clearly raise suspicion to the public eye and its makes you think how our government used our own tax dollars to fund something that violates the rights of humans itself.
