Good people v. bad people -> us v. them mentality. Us side of the equation can bond over the them side. Us side feels righteous and moral in comparison. People held tailgate parties to celebrate that bundy was being executed -> ghoulish enthusiasm w/burgers and t-shirts. In all moral orders, crime serves functions: Put selves in position to be punished by state.
