Audio recording started: 3:30 pm thursday, january 25, 2018. Supposedly to help you attain enlightenment after you read it. People began to appreciate it artistically in modern times. Not really a scandalous thing at the time. Western people start to use "homosexuality" to define a different gender. A group of people id them by saying they have this particular sex orientation. In china, particularly, as such as we understand, was never understood like this. Not like, "this person happens to like people of the same sex. " they"re not singled out as a particular group of people, or as gay. Some people might sleep with men, and women as well. Men sleep with men, or women and women. Not considered as someone so different from you b/c of their homosexuality. Critique at the end of the chapter- if you have novel itself, and it has commentary, supposedly written by someone else. In this case, scholars believe the author wrote it himself.
