EARTHSS 19 Lecture 7: Lab Lecture #7

Document Summary

In this lab we are making a simulation for daisyworld. The daisyworld model is a hypothetical world that shows feedback systems. In this system the growth of black and white daisies changes the temperature because they have very different albedos. By the end of this lab, we should understand how black and white area affect empty area. We should also be able to identify that this is a closed system because there is no exchange of energy from outside sources, meaning the total area is always constant. We should have a fair understanding of how these areas respond to planetary temperature, by either growing white daisies to increase albedo and decrease temperature or by growing black daisies to decrease albedo and increase temperature. Question 2. pasted below is the flowchart for question 2, after adding the white daisies. Question 3. pasted below is the flowchart for question 3, after adding in temperature sensitivity.
