The objective for this lab is to understand how cfcs move around the atmosphere being exchanged between the troposphere and stratosphere. After completing this lab we should understand how cfcs move throughout the atmosphere, using residence time, and where they end up. We should also be able to know the relationship between cfcs and o3 concentration in the stratosphere and how over time o3 depletion is increasing. *this flowchart shows the new variables, residence time for o3 loss caused by cfcs and amount of o3 lost from cfc chemistry, added during step 2. Cfc_stratosphere(t) = cfc_stratosphere(t - dt) + (t2s - s2t - cfc_loss) * dt. Cfc_troposphere(t) = cfc_troposphere(t - dt) + (cfc_production + s2t - t2s) * dt. O3_stratosphere(t) = o3_stratosphere(t - dt) + (o3_production - o3_loss - o3_cfc_loss) * dt. Step 1: when we change the stop time to a time of 400 years we do not see any change in o3.
