Correlations are associations between variables occurring together. = both move in the opposite direction. + = both variables move in the same directions. The higher the number, closest to 1, the stronger correlation. Control as much as we can but understand we can"t understand everything. What else do i need? (movie ques) Explores a central phenomenon (one key concept) Focuses on process as well as outcomes. Writes a final report that includes personal biases and flexible structure. Case studies: investigation of one person or situation. Ethnographic: study of naturally occurring events in life of a group to understand meaning of events to the people. Clinical interview (piaget): open ended questioning to prove responses, follow up on questions.
