Document Summary

The first interpretation is one that i have heard of the most when i have studied the bible. In my opinion, this interpretation is plausible since it highlights the notion of intention. God"s test for abraham would be an example of the concept of devotion and blinded trust. In my opinion, it is more straight forward than creative because it could be one of the first things that enters your mind when you hear this story in the context it"s presented in. Furthermore, it is a clever approach since it is critically thinking of a way in which his actions and desires would be justified based on the punishment/hope theories that the religion exemplifies. The second interpretation is plausible, in my opinion, because it is able to give a distinct perspective on the story and its importance. More specifically, it is able to use the symbolism of contrasting images in order to explain why such a horrendous act was requested.
