MGMT 136 Lecture 9: Chapter 9
Document Summary
Forms: custom designed screen for entering records or displaying existing records. Can be simple documents that display contents of a table or can be complex outputs that combine the information from several tables and show selected subsets of database information useful for decision- making. Detail section (most of the form) displays record information. Advantages: avoid accidental replacement of data: displays many records at once, all data-entry textboxes on one screen: no need to keep tabbing to right, can be customized. Bound controls: textboxes, drop downs change based on underlying data. Unbound controls: labels, pictures, consistent from record to record and don"t display underlying database info. Property sheet window: individual settings for control objects. Control source property: settings in the data tab portion of the property sheet window and links the control to an underlying data field. Refine your design: toggle between run and design mode.
