Often first time someone is asked questions about mental health. How people are doing in 5 domains: Thought processes - how quickly and fluently they"re speaking. Mood and affect - are they responding to situation with appropriate responses (i. e. , flat affect no expression) Intellectual functioning - is intelligence within normal range. Sensorium - aware of person, time, and place. Used to project personality onto ambiguous stimuli. Lot of inference that comes in scoring and interpreting test. Rorsach good at revealing people with underlying thoughts, but could probably tell that just by talking with someone with psychotic disorder. Minimal clinical inference in scoring and interpretation. Originally developed as measure of degree to which children"s performance diverged from others in their grade. Compare a person"s scores against those of other people who are same age.
