Document Summary
Stress response is the body"s attempt to maintain homeostasis in the face f a stressor. If the demand has not been removed or neutralized, maintaining homeostasis can be a source of ongoing wear and tear. Wear and tear on the body; costs of maintain homeostasis in the face of continuing challenges. Chronic, unremitting stressors lead to the repeated release of stress hormones. Not habituating can lead to over exposure of stress response hormones. Failure to turn off the stress responsive system after the stressor has ended. No cortisol response can lead to exaggerated inflammatory- reaction. Act on the brain to increase apperticite for food and food seeking behavior. Increase in these levels can promote depression of body fat. Those with higher allosteric load wear well more likely to develop cardiocarvasular diseases. Behavioral taking direct action to reduce impact of the stressor. Cognitive thinking strategies to modify impact of the stressor.
