Cultures are the social environments where change takes place. Variations in life patterns (attitudes, values, customs, beliefs, etc. ) Random idiosyncratic events that occur throughout life. Normative historical event (job loss harsh economy) Difficult to separate out personal aging and the impact of interactions among aspects of social aging.
