Trying to find out who i am . Trying to find a place in the world. Average number of job changes: ages 20-29 = 7. Changes in residence: ages 20-29 move the most often. I think i want to get more in touch with myself. I want to be a little selfish for awhile, and selfishness and marriage don"t seem to go hand in hand. I"d like to be able to experience as much as i can before i get married, just so i can be well- rounded. Subjective feeling of being in a transitional period of life. Most emerging adults respond with yes and no to question of do you feel like you have reached adulthood? . Example in media: britney spears- i"m not a girl, not yet a women . 89% of 18 24 year-olds agreed with the statement: I am confident that one day i will get to where i want to be in life .
