Used things such as insulin induced comas & lobotomies. *today: brain surgery still used to treat certain disorders like severe epilepsy but not in the crude way they were in the past. People chained to bed & deprived of basic necessities. Essentially warehouses for those with psychiatric illness. Medical doctors -> psychiatrists, neurologists, psychiatric nurses or nurse practitioners. Support/care staff in certain institutions who may not certified. Treatment providers (clinical psychologist, psychiatrists, mft, counselors, clinical social workers, etc. )
