*the word commit sounds blaming, and success is supposedly a positive thing. Suicide is not lifelong - it has its peaks and moment of acuity. Some people do have a chronic pattern of suicide, but most of the time it will be in episodes of suicidal behavior. There are very often warning signs, however subtle or obvious they are. Giving away valued possessions is a clue that a person may be considering suicide; any behaviors signaling a preparation or something. Talking about suicide will not lead to more suicide; it helps to de-stigmatize suicide and benefit those who are struggling. Once someone is suicidal they will always be suicidal. Talking about suicide is a bad idea and can be interpreted as encouragement. Only people with mental disorders are suicidal. Someone who is suicidal is determined to die. People who talk about suicide do not mean to do it. A suicide is committed every 12 minutes.
