Negative adolescence and adulthood is more positive and irresponsible. It depends on when is ends and begins. Emotional- how you deal with things cognitive ability. In book the age of early- 10-13, middle 14-17, late- 18-22 (emergining adulthood) Most people have negative view of adolescence- if you view it negatively or your parents- you will have children that will have a hard time too. Prove that its not a storm or stress - key to class. Strongest effects are in early puberty- nothing to do its really early. Beeper study( 1984)- gave adolescence beepers and followed them ad tracked their mood - the activities make their mood swings- the more change in activities the more change in moods. Don"t die of cancer and heat decease they die of this more. Buchanan 2003- they showed negative believes lead to negative expectations- self-fulfilling prophecies. They rated adolescence then their child- both negative.
