No difference between clitoral and vaginal orgasm. Criticisms of masters and johnson: ignores cognitive and psychological factors, no desire or passion, way participants were selected. Independent phases: sexual desire (psychological, vasocongestion (physiological, muscular contractions (physiological) Organizing effects: cause a permanent change in organization of some structures. Activating effects: activate or deactivate certain behaviors, especially sexual and aggressive behaviors. In female guinea pigs experiment, administered testosterone activated male patterns of sexual behavior. Physical castration: surgical removal of the testes: bilateral orchiectomy. Chemical castration: inject drug that reduces testosterone levels. Castrated men have been seen to keep engaging in sexual behavior.
